What is Somniphobia? |
Some people fear sleeping or either going to bed. Others might get really anxious right before they go to bed and some experience panic attacks at night. Believe it or not this is a very common sleeping disorder called Somniphobia. People who struggle with Somniphobia might have problems with work and doing things in the day because of not being able to fall into a deep sleep. There are some medications that can help with Somniphobia plus herbal supplements. Another thing that doctors to aim at is reducing levels of stress and finding out what exactly is causing this disorder. Positive affirmations throughout the day are also encouraged and saying things like "I am going to sleep tonight and I am not afraid" over and over will help you be able to fall into a deep sleep. Using negative thoughts and thinking that you can not sleep will not help and could slow down the treatment for Somniphobia.
