There are a few names that sleeping sickness is known by such as trypanosomiasis and African sleeping sickness. A tiny parasite that creates a infection that becomes really serious located in the brain and then it meninges. Most of the time this disease is very fatal if it is not treated right away. Usually these type of parasites can only be found in Africa or either at Equator. There have been some really big outbreaks in the year 2005 at Angola.

There is no prevention of Sleeping sickness and nothing that can stop it from happening as of yet. However, there is a lot of research and studies being done in hope to cure this from spreading and happening. All it takes is one bite from this parasite to get it.

Ones who have this and are able to get treatment right away are giving one of the four drugs:

- melarosprol
- pentamidine
- suramin
- eflornithine

Before the patient is given one of those drugs a test is first conducted to confirm that they do have sleeping sickness. It does not matter how old you are or what gender you are because these parasites can bite anyone that is around them.
