What is Sleepiness? |
During some point in your life, you feel like you are just very exhausted and sleepy. When sleepiness starts interfering with all your daily activities and routines and decreases your ability to be able to function, it is generally known as “problem sleepiness.” This issue makes a person sleepy and they do not even realize it. An example, if a person does not feel like they are sleepy while they are talking or listening to the music on the radio, but when the person gets ready to go home they could fall asleep while they are driving home. Throughout every day your body experiences, at two different periods, a natural way towards sleepiness. In the late night hours, from midnight to 7 a.m. and then again at mid-afternoon from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. a person might experience these issues. If a person is awake during these certain times, they could be at an increasing risk of just unintentionally falling asleep. Sleepiness will occur especially when a person is not getting the appropriate amount of sleep that their body is needing.
