What is Shift Work Sleep Disorder?

Most people only experience this when there has been a change at work during their shift. Some are usually only able to work nights and others only work days and when they get switched, they might experience Shift work sleep disorder if they have problems with being able to sleep or adjust to the new shift.

Shift work sleep disorder symptoms:

- having hardly any energy
- headaches
- insomnia

Shift work sleep disorder treatments:

- Talk with your boss about decreasing how many night or day shifts you have.

- Try to avoid working for very long hours.

- Try not to rotate shifts just for the raise. If you have problems with your sleep as a result it might not be worth it.

- Reduce the amount of caffeine that you are having.

- Try and get sleep while you can and not become distracted with doing things at home.

Sometimes depression and restlessness can cause Shift work sleep disorder if there has been a change in your shift. You should not neglect your sleep because of a possible bonus. Your health is very important and something that you must try and watch after.
